Playing Dress-Up...

So after about a year, I finally broke down and got a haircut... Nothing drastic, but just enough to make me feel a little off, you know? Especially when you consider "hair shock," that pesky period right after a cut when your hair refuses to cooperate with you. How rude.

Now I don't know about you, but whenever I feel a little down I find it helps to dress up... Do you guys ever feel that way? Even though it was drizzling out, I decided to pair a Forever 21 dress I hadn't worn in ages (last seen here) with my favourite Rachel Rachel Roy vest. Yup, that's what I wore. To Costco. On a Sunday afternoon. No biggie...

What do you guys do when you feel down? We should form some kind of support group or something... I'll bring the ice cream! :p

Weekend Warrior...

Do you guys have a weekend uniform? I do. And in case you couldn't tell, it largely consists of comfy dresses (or skirts) and vests... I don't know why, but that seems to be what I gravitate towards at the end of the week. Now don't get me wrong, jeans and a basic tee regularly make appearances on lazy Saturday mornings, but lately I seem to be all about the dress/vest combo... *shrug*

Hot Pink in the City...

I know, I know, I look like a Miami Vice cast member in this blazer, but I don't mind... I just love the colour so! I've never been a fuchsia person before (and when the hue started popping up everywhere I secretly cringed), but now I'm a total devotee. I don't know what's gotten into me these days, but I find myself craving its vibrancy on a daily basis. Now don't worry, I won't be inundating AIF with fuchsia-coloured everything, but you might be seeing it on a regular basis over the next couple of months... There. You've been forewarned.

I don't know what it is lately, but I'm really into mixing prints. Especially if they clash. What's my deal, you ask? Well my friends, I wish I could tell you... Maybe it's the unexpected way the eye reacts to prints that don't "match" by conventional standards. Maybe it's the strange looks these combos garner. Or maybe I'm just a weirdo. Who knows, maybe it's all three...

Hello lovelies! I hope everyone is having a nice, productive Thursday afternoon... I myself am trying to make my way through an ever-expanding to do list, so here's hoping I have something to show for myself by the end of the day!

Anyway, my lovely and talented friend Adria shot these pics for me last weekend, giving Mr. AIF a nice little break from photo-duty. We decided to use this lovely old heritage home as a backdrop (thankfully no one minded!), and had a lot of fun goofing around... What can I say, girls will be girls!

I bought this dress several months ago, but had only worn it once before to a blogger meet-up in Edmonton. I love the print and the crazy colours, which seem more subdued in the photos than they actually are, and the detail around the neckline makes my heart pitter-patter... Hey, it's the simple things in life, right?

Black, White & Tan...

The other day Mr. AIF and I ventured down to Victoria's Fisherman's Wharf to get some seafood for dinner, and this is what I wore... It seemed like a perfectly good idea at the time, but I didn't bank on all the incredulous stares my pants would garner when I put them on that morning. Who knows, maybe people thought they were pajama pants or something... Regardless, they weren't exactly well received. I guess it's a good thing I can handle a strange look or two in the name of fashion, huh?
